Disclaimer for Safenet Aegis
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Introduction
This disclaimer (“Disclaimer”) is issued by the Safe Ecosystem Foundation, located in Zug, Switzerland (“Foundation”, “We”, or “Ours”), and applies to Safenet Aegis [safenet.safefoundation.org] as well as to all related information on our website and in other media channels (collectively referred to as “Safenet Aegis”). If you are interested in Safenet Aegis as a user, Sentinel, Validator or Delegator (“You”, “Your”, or “User”), please make sure to read this document thoroughly.
We reserve the right to change this Disclaimer at any time at our sole discretion. The Disclaimer in effect at the time you interact with Safenet Aegis applies. It is your responsibility to periodically review the most current version of the Disclaimer. Your continued interaction with Safenet Aegis constitutes your confirmation that you have carefully read and understood the content of this Disclaimer.
2. No Involvement of the Foundation in Safenet Aegis Operations
Safenet Aegis is an onchain transaction-security protocol for Safe smart accounts. Transactions submitted to Safenet Aegis are reviewed against defined risk patterns by a permissioned set of independent transaction checkers (“Sentinels”). These reviews are referred to as “Transaction Checks”. The results of the Transaction Checks are attested onchain by a permissioned set of independent validators (“Validators”), to whom SAFE holders may delegate their stake (“Delegators”). Split results of Transaction Checks are resolved by a security council (“Security Council”). Sentinels, Validators and the members of the Security Council are selected and removed by the SafeDAO, which also sets the parameters of Safenet Aegis. While the Foundation’s purpose includes supporting the development of the Safe technology, including Safenet Aegis, the Foundation does not manage or control the Safenet Aegis technology and does not provide you with any services related to Safenet Aegis.
The Foundation is therefore not involved in the operation of any Sentinel or Validator, is not represented on the Security Council, nor does it perform, supervise, or validate any Transaction Checks or their attestation. Sentinels and Validators act independently, bear full responsibility for their activities, and carry out Transaction Checks and attestations exclusively on their own. The Foundation does not receive, hold or manage any fees paid for Transaction Checks, any bonds posted by Sentinels, any slashed amounts or any rewards; such funds are handled exclusively by smart contracts and/or by accounts controlled by the SafeDAO. The Foundation’s role is strictly limited to core technology development. In addition, the Foundation does not operate any interface to access Safenet Aegis. By utilising or engaging with Safenet Aegis, you acknowledge and agree that you are not engaging with the Foundation in any capacity.
Safenet Aegis is based on novel technology, still in a development and testing phase and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Neither the Foundation nor any person associated with the Foundation makes any warranty or representation with respect to the completeness, security, reliability, quality, accuracy, or availability of the Safenet Aegis technology, the results of any Transaction Checks or attestations, or any services related to Safenet Aegis. Without limiting the foregoing, neither the Foundation nor anyone associated with the Foundation guarantees that Safenet Aegis will eliminate malicious transactions entirely or that it will not flag or delay legitimate transactions. Any interaction with Safenet Aegis is made AT YOUR OWN RISK.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the Foundation, its affiliates, or its licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, or directors be liable for damages of any kind, under any legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use, or inability to use, Safenet Aegis, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, personal injury, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business or anticipated savings, loss of use, loss of goodwill, loss of data, and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.
You further understand and agree that neither Safenet Aegis nor any of its implementations and/or components are under the control of and/or operated by the Foundation and that the Foundation shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from any vulnerability or any type of malfunction or failure of Safenet Aegis, the results of any Transaction Checks or attestations, any decision of the Security Council or the SafeDAO, any slashing, refund or loss of fees, bonds or rewards, or any other issues resulting in loss or injury.
4. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Disclaimer shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the substantive laws of Switzerland, excluding the Swiss conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention for the International Sales of Goods is excluded.
Any dispute arising out of or in conjunction with this Disclaimer shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the ordinary courts of the city of Zug, Switzerland.
